The Moorfoot Building stands at the southern end of The Moor shopping area in Sheffield. Completed in 1981 as the headquarters of the Manpower Services Commission, it later became home to Sheffield City Council. Today, plans are underway to transform the building into 320 new homes.

With its distinctive stepped concrete frame, bands of red brick and rows of windows, Moorfoot is one of Sheffield's most recognisable landmarks. A striking example of Brutalist architecture, its tiered form has often been compared to a ziggurat—the stepped temple towers of ancient Mesopotamia
