Thea Penna is an immensely talented portrait painter. Working in acrylic and oils, she captures natural light and skin tones wonderfully. Her studies of her loved ones are beautifully interesting, but I also love the darker, striking self-portrait triptych, which shows a very different side to this delicate handed, gifted artist.
I was lucky enough to see Thea's work in the flesh at The National Portrait Gallery, London after she was selected 2 years running for the BP Portrait Awards annual exhibition.
You can catch her stunning 'Baker Girl' portrait on display in 'The Society of Women's Artists' exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London from 26th June - 5th July.
